L'Abri

Tomorrow I head off to England until the end of April. I will be staying at L'Abri in Greatham for most of my time abroad. What is L'Abri you ask? Good question. I, myself, don't really know. It makes it a little frustrating when trying to explain it to others, but at the same time I find it kind of liberating to be entering into this undefined space.
I will be doing an independent study at L'Abri, but by no means is it a traditional school.
I will be tucked away in the English countryside living in an old manor in a tiny town.       Rough, I know.
I will be unplugged and disconnected most of the time.
I will take refuge and be silent and I will probably do a lot of thinking and maybe even a touch of photography.
And when I bring out my camera, it will not be digital. I am taking it all the way back to the Mamiya 645                Medium Format Camera- she is a beast and I am kind of really excited.

I want to take this time to pause and I want to take this opportunity to really decide what it is I want to do with photography. It will be a challenge to only have 72 exposures for three months, especially when I can take 72 pictures on my digital camera in less than 15 minutes. It will be a challenge but I think it is a good challenge to face.

So here is to a spot of tea and new undefined adventures!
I wont really have access to my email but once a week, so forgive me if it takes a bit longer to respond to any inquires!

This blog will be go dormant for a while, but I think it might make a pretty spectacular re-entry so stay tuned!

Oh boy! Do I look forward to your new entries!! Especially as I did not really see that beast of a camera you talked about in your recent blog. I hope Hampshire was kind to you not withstanding the rain, OMG the rain! How did you put up with that deluge? It was funny though attempting to build an Ark like Noah's only for the rain to dry up!!! I will miss your cool presence and even though you are not English, your stiff upper lip in the face of a soft gentle incessant and continuous downpour. Always ever with you in spirit and mind. Will.i.am.
P.s am I talking Bull? Funny how living on a cattle ranch in the middle of Hampshire can cause one to do so!
